Bandera

Bandera is a daily Taglish tabloid under Inquirer Publications, Incorporated, one of the companies under the Inquirer Group of Companies.
Its tagline “Balita, Buenas, Chika” translates to “News, Good luck, Gossip.” It contains local and international news, as well as gossip about famous artists. Bandera has three separate editions for Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It also has a digital edition, which can be accessed through subscription.
Initially named Metro Times, Bandera was first published on September 10, 1990. Before the Prietos, owner of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, bought the paper in late 2001, Bandera was published by the Gokongweis as the sister publication of The Manila Times.
In 2015, the Philippine Post Office released a commemorative stamp for the 25th anniversary of the paper.
Inquirer Publications, Incorporated is owned by Inquirer Holdings, Inc. and the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Incorporated at 70-30, respectively. Inquirer Holdings, Incorporated is mainly owned by the Rufino-Prieto family.
Businessman Manuel V. Pangilinan also has 25 percent shares in Inquirer Holdings through Excel Pacific Holding Corporation, according to the company’s 2016 General Information Sheet filed at the Securities and Exchange Commission.
