Brigada News FM
Brigada News FM airs over 40 radio stations in the FM band nationwide dedicated to news, commentary, and public affairs. It covers local news, as well as national, international, business, entertainment, and sports.
It is the only news station to emerge among the top 10 FM radio stations in Nielsen’s CMV Q2 2023.
It is owned by Brigada Mass Media Corporation, which is under a conglomerate, the Brigada Group of Companies with businesses encompassing media, logistics, pharmaceuticals, security, and construction.
The conglomerate founder and owner, Elmer V. Catulpos, used to be a contractual radio news reporter, multi-level marketer, and insurance agent.
He founded Brigada Mass Media Corporation starting with a two-page flier of entertainment stories and tips for health and lottery. In 2005, amid accusations that he was promoting illegal gambling and that his publication was a sham, he registered his business at the city hall and founded the Brigada News Philippines tabloid.
In 2022, he entered politics and ran for the mayoralty post of GenSan with the support and endorsement of the Achievement with Integrity Movement, a political party founded by the Antoninos of South Cotabato.
Catulpos is also an owner of Baycomms Broadcasting Corporation, which operates the franchise of Brigada’s radio stations and Media Serbisyo Production Corporation’s DWPM 630 Teleradyo Serbisyo – formerly ABS-CBN’s DZMM Teleradyo 630.
Brigada News FM can also be live streamed online.
