DWPM Radyo 630

DWPM Radyo 630 is a radio channel under a joint venture partnership between Media Serbisyo Production Corporation (MSPC) and ABS-CBN Corporation of the Lopez family.

It was initially known as DZMM Radyo 630 and was broadcasting on TV and radio under ABS-CBN, and later rebranded as simply Teleradyo after it migrated online following ABS-CBN’s loss of franchise.

With ABS-CBN onboard as partner, it serves as producer for content, which is mostly similar to the programming of the station when it was still under the DZMM brand. The same anchors and program format have made it easier to draw the audience that regularly tuned in to its former station ID.

DWPM Radyo 630 now airs on the frequency used by ABS-CBN’s flagship radio station DZMM Teleradyo before the latter went off the air on May 5, 2020. It now broadcasts under the license of Baycomms Broadcasting Corporation, which is the franchise operator.

Baycomms Broadcasting Corporation, founded by Ernesto G. Yabut is owned by the Catulpos couple, Elmer and Yelcy, who also own the Brigada Group of Companies conglomerate based in General Santos City.

The entry of Prime Media into mass media has raised alarm bells because it has been mentioned in media that it is owned by House Speaker Martin Romualdez, a cousin of President Marcos, and is known to be positioning for a presidential run in 2028. However, his name does not appear in any of Prime Holdings' corporation papers.

Recent History

After the cease-and-desist order of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) on ABS-CBN, DZMM TeleRadyo rebranded itself as simply TeleRadyo and went back on-air (through cable) and online on May 8, 2020, to resume the programming of the former DZMM.

On June 28, 2021, TeleRadyo started to broadcast on YouTube and Facebook while select shows were being broadcast on the Kapamilya Channel and The Filipino Channel (TFC).

On May 27, 2022, TeleRadyo returned to digital free TV via A2Z channel, coinciding with the second anniversary of the rebrand. After six months, TeleRadyo was pulled out of free TV for the second time, after ABS-CBN and ZOE decided not to renew their licensing contract for the airing of the channel as one of A2Z's digital subchannels.

ABS-CBN Corporation decided to cease operating TeleRadyo effective June 30, 2023, to cut further financial losses resulting from the non-renewal of the company's broadcast franchise. A few days before the supposed closure of the channel, ABS-CBN announced it had entered into a joint venture with Prime Media Holdings to produce content for a new channel.

ABS-CBN-owned TeleRadyo signed off for the last time on June 29, 2023, and was relaunched as DWPM Radyo 630 together with its pay television counterpart TeleRadyo Serbisyo the following day.
