DZXL 558 Manila, now known as Radyo Trabaho, is the flagship Manila AM radio station of Radio Mindanao Network, Inc. It is the eighth leading AM station in Mega Manila as of the second quarter of 2023, with an audience share of 2.19% among all AM radio stations in Mega Manila based on Nielsen’s Mega Manila Radio Audience Measurement from April to June 2023.
The station’s varied programming includes news and current affairs, health and religion. Owing to its brand, Radyo Trabaho has a regular program called “Usapang Trabaho” that features job vacancies for those seeking employment.
DZXL 558 Manila (Radyo Trabaho) is owned and operated by Radio Mindanao Network, Inc. (RMN), whose parent company is the EDCanoy Prime Holdings, Inc. with a 65.62283% stake in the company. RMN’s high-ranking officers and majority stockholders are members of the Canoy family.
Eric S. Canoy, son of RMN founder Henry Canoy, is the network’s chairman, president and chief executive officer. He is also the president and chairman of EDCanoy Prime Holdings, Inc. His family, which wholly owns EDCanoy Prime Holdings, Inc., holds 65.62601% combined shares in RMN.
DZXL 558 Manila (Radyo Trabaho) traces its roots from radio station DZHP founded in 1962 as part of the tri-media conglomerate owned by then-San Miguel Corporation owner Andres Soriano Sr. which consisted of the newspaper The Philippines Herald (now-defunct) and broadcast stations RMN and Inter-Island Broadcasting Corporation (now government-controlled called Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation). The station’s call sign “HP” was named after the Philippines Herald.
Since then, the station has undergone rebranding and changing of call signs from DZHP to DWXL in 1975, to its present name DZXL in 1987.
In its early days, the station was originally focused on broadcasting classy music until it revamped its programming in 1977 to feature radio dramas and radio personalities to target the grassroots audience.
In the 1980s, the station slowly refocused its programming to news and current affairs. Its news staff was increased “to cater to the changes” as a result of the changing political climate amidst the impending downfall of the Marcos dictatorship in 1986.
In August 2018, DZXL 558 rebranded as “Radyo Trabaho” with an aim to help Filipinos get decent jobs. Owing to its brand, it has a dedicated program featuring job vacancies. It also partners with the government and private institutions to organize job fairs.
Among the well-known broadcasters who have worked for DZXL are GMA-7 anchor Mel Tiangco, the late journalist-turned-congressman Bobby Guanzon and Ka Doroy Valencia. Meanwhile, its current anchors include Ricky Rosales, Mare Yao and Zhander Cayabyab, who transferred to DZXL following the non-renewal of the broadcast franchise of their former station ABS-CBN in 2020.

Carlos S. Canoy
Carlos “Charlie” S. Canoy is a board member of Radio Mindanao Network, Inc. He is not an officer nor part of the EDCanoy Prime Holdings, which is wholly owned by the family of his brother, Eric S. Canoy.
In 2010, Carlos, Eric and two other RMN officers were sued by a former station manager of RMN Davao branch for illegal dismissal. The former employee won the labor case and was ordered reinstated and paid back wages.
