ETC

ETC is a free-to-air ultra high frequency channel and is one of the 10 channels owned by Solar Entertainment Corporation through its wholly-owned subsidiary Southern Broadcasting Network. The other channels are Solar Sports, Basketball TV, Jack TV, 2nd Avenue, CT, NBA Premium, Shop TV, The Game Channel, and My Movie Channel.

The channel got 0.15 percent audience share based on Nielsen National Urban TV Audience Measurement from Jan. to June 2016.

ETC’s target market, according to its website, is the young adult demographic, with programming that caters to that specific audience like sitcoms, drama series, reality and entertainment news programs from major networks in the United States.

It also airs local news programs, lifestyle, entertainment and reality programs.

ETC used to be just a cable and satellite channel, but ABS-CBN Corporation’s SkyCable stopped showing it as a separate channel on their cable network in 2008.  ETC then started broadcasting at SBN 21.

ETC moved to Radio Philippines Network (RPN) channel 9 between March 2, 2011 to November 30, 2013 when the Tieng brothers acquired a 34-percent stake in RPN from the Philippine government as part of RPN and Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation’s privatization in 2011. They sold the same shares to Antonio Cabangon-Chua in August 2014.
