In 2001, GMA partnered with Inquirer.net, the online site of Philippine Daily Inquirer, and put up inq7.net. The partnership meant expanding the reach of the two media outlets by having a presence in all platforms - print, TV, radio, and online. The collaboration ended in 2007.
GMA News Online was launched in the same year, and while growing the website strengthened its online presence via their social media sites YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok.
The site features news stories of national and international scope. It also has content on business news, sport, science and technology, entertainment, and features.
It archives news aired on GMA-7 and GTV, as well as those on DZBB Super Radyo 594.
