Kapamilya Channel

The Kapamilya Channel was launched in June 2020, a month after ABS-CBN Network was ordered to stop broadcast operations. It is a 24-hour web-based channel that also broadcasts via cable and satellite TV and enabled the network to continue airing and producing its news and entertainment programs, among them TV Patrol and The World Tonight.

Congress finally decided not to approve the company’s legislative franchise to broadcast on July 10, 2020, which led to the network’s closure as a free television station, and its affiliate radio stations on AM and FM, going off-air permanently.

Despite being a paid channel through cable, satellite, and live streaming app subscriptions, the Kapamilya Channel is among the TV stations with viewership levels at par with free TV stations.

The channel is also accessible overseas through ABS-CBN’s The Filipino Channel (TFC) and online platforms.

In August of that year, the station expanded to YouTube and Facebook.

According to Nielsen’s Television Audience Measurement, Kapamilya Channel has over 300,000 individuals tuned in from 6 AM to 12 AM.
