UNTV

UNTV, formally known as UNTV News and Rescue and UNTV Public Service, is the flagship television network of the Progressive Broadcasting Corporation (PBC). It broadcasts on ultra-high frequency and is also available on select cable and satellite television providers.

According to the website of Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International Inc. (BMPI), UNTV is owned by PBC but there is no documentary proof to support the claim. PBC partnered with BMPI as the station’s content provider and to serve as its marketing arm.

It airs a variety of programs, including news and current affairs, public service programs, and religious programming.

In 2022, UNTV signed an agreement with the Philippine National Police to broadcast its public affairs programs. At present, the station regularly airs “Sumbong N’yo, Aksyon Agad” from Mondays to Fridays and “Pulis at Ur Serbis” every Saturday.

The channel has undergone rebranding several times since it was launched in 2001. It is now more known as a news-and-rescue and public service channel since July 2016, under the management of BMPI.

Businessman Alfredo “Atom” L. Henares, through his company PBC owns the broadcast frequency for UNTV. On the other hand, BMPI is led by its chairman and president Daniel Razon, a veteran broadcaster.

Aside from UNTV, BMPI also operates the AM station UNTV Radio La Verdad 1350 and the 107.5 Wish FM.
