Alfredo “Atom” L. Henares is a Filipino businessman who owns Progressive Broadcasting Corporation, the media company that owns the channel UNTV News and Rescue. He is also its chairman of the board and president.
Henares graduated from Harvard Graduate School with a Masters in Business Administration degree and from the Jesuit-run Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Business Management.
Henares is the son of media personality Hilarion “Larry” Henares. He was formerly married to Victoria “Vicki” G. Belo, the president and medical director of the Belo Medical Group, a multimillion beauty products and cosmetics business. She is also a television personality.
Henares has varied business interests from real estate, electric powerplant, and palm oil manufacturing. He is the chairman of the board of the publicly listed company Salcon Power Corporation, a company that sells electricity in the provinces such as Naga and Cebu.
