Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company
Ang Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) Company Incorporated ay isa sa nangungunang kumpanya ng telekomunikasyon sa bansa. Ito ay naglalaan ng serbisyo na wireless at nakapirming linya, bukod pa sa iba; ang nagpapasok ng pinakamalaking pera sa kumpanya ay ang serbisyong wireless, na kumita ng P 171 bilyon noong 2015.
Kasama sa mga wireless na serbisyo ang cellular at broadband. Ang Smart Communications at Sun Cellular, sa katunayan, ay buung-buong pagmamay-ari ng PLDT.
Kabilang sa ibang mga interes nito ay power generation sa pamamagitan ng PLDT Communications Energy Ventures (PCEV), isang holding company na may 17.48 porsiyentong parte sa Meralco. Ang Mediaquest Holdings, sa kabilang dako, ay ang humahawak ng mga pangangailangan ng PLDT na may kaugnayan sa media. Sa ilalim nito ay may himpilan ng telebisyon, radyo, babasahin at online. Kabilang sa mga ito ang nangungunang tanggapan ng media tulad ng network ng TV 5, grupo ng Philippine Star, Radyo Singko at Interaksyon.
Ayon sa libro ni Rigoberto Tiglao na Colossal Deception, ang PLDT sa kahuli-hulihan ay pagmamay-ari ng mayaman at maimpluwensyang negosyante na Indonesian, si Anthoni Salim, sa pamamagitan ng First Pacific Company Limited.
Ang mayaman at maimpluwensyang negosyante na si Manuel V. Pangilinan ay bahagi ng PLDT mula pa noong 1998, nagsisilbi bilang isa sa mga direktor. Siya ay chairman of the board, at president at chief executive officer mula pa noong Pebrero 2004 at Disyembre 2015, alinsunod sa pagkakasunod.
Noong Nobyembre 2016, ipinahayag nito ang panawagan para sa isang bagong presidente na inaasahang papangalanan bago mag 2018.
Ang prangkisa ng PLDT ay mawawalan nang bisa sa 2028.
